Live Wires - Sutton Fields - 10/09/08

Well done to Treacle, Tigger, Mac and Dylan for getting their flyball awards. It was also the last time Dylan will race with us as he and Mike are heading off to Canada. They will be missed and have been key members in the success of the team.
Once again Brenda was judging! So we came last!  Actually it was due more to the fact that Steph and Tigger were (selfishly) on holiday.

Kelly and Bruno stepped into the breach.  Bruno did well but did not want to come back over the jumps! Kelly fell at one point but all the sympathy she got was me yelling "get up get up"!! As I didn't want Bruno to be put off.   Starters did well, Toffee really was coiled like a spring and she and Lucy are proving a good pair in the team.  Mila once she got into the flow enjoyed her first comp and ran very well. Finally Rita had the confidence to put Findlay into a comp and although he did jump over the netting a few times he certainly was running up for the ball so well done F Factor and Rita. I have to say my proudest moment (apart from Treacle getting her award) was little Suzie who swapped with Findlay and is getting braver and braver. Suzie did really well, even getting the ball out the box on one occasion, she was very fast and ran up the lane quite happily only looking back on one occasion for me.

Dolphins - Eastham - 01/08/2008

We didn't get there early enough for the human flyball the night before the comp but we got our camp set up but not before Mike won Order of the Turd for forgetting the orange netting!  We then had a lovely, albeit scary walk once it got dark, in Eastham country park. With Paul trying to scare us on numerous opportunities, but I got the kids round me for safety! We then settled down with a film before bed.  The day got off to an early start with a big fry up & then off to the racing. Typically the starter team came last but we had some good fun, Toffee has turned into a real diva & has obviously learnt that by running 5th everyone is watching her. Bhuna did well and it was great that everyone saw him go.

PODS - Anglesey - 27/07/2008

Our first team camping experience was fab.  The trip got off to a good start despite a delayed departure of 2 hours! We were not even out of Manchester before Paul was on the phone asking if we could stop soon for a drink!  We eventually arrive at our destination although the jetski brought my landrover to a sudden halt as we got stuck on the cattle grid. Kelly then took the lead & led us on a road to no where! We eventually got into Tai Lawr & established our camp!  I got the Order of the Turd pretty quickly when I stood in poo! I thought Paul was rushing off to get a wet wipe, water and a poo bag but no it was to get me the plastic dog poo! I didn't keep the Order of the Turd for more than a day as Daisy had a very unfortunate incident with Bhunas poo and the award certainly cheered her up, Daisy was then able to pass it on to Rachael the next day!  The day off was spent chilling out at the beach followed by bbq and karaoke.  The day of racing was very hot! The Woofs team had to run NFC in the afternoon as a few were going wrong. Bhuna managed the full jumps in the sweltering heat once in the morning which was great as few have got to see him running well.  Storm ran the best he ever has which was fantastic. Bruno also did well. Poor Jasper was struggling with the heat he did get the ball well on one attempt but unfortunately it was the other teams!  The starter team went well, Toffee got a 2nd red light for going too fast over the start! , Suzie did well as long as I ran with her. Best of all was Bert not one rugby tackle at all and he ran properly a real star.

Cheshire Set - Ryecroft - 30/08/2008

Well we had a laugh and beat our seed time!!  We just could not get it together this time!  Brenda from the PODs was the judge and we always do badly when she is there!  Poor Brenda she is definitely our unlucky mascot!
We were unlucky on a couple of races as she failed to spot an interfering dog and the line judges distracted us which made us think that the race had been stopped! Mac spectacularly jumped up and hit paul in a rather delicate area who then as he was bent double could not get out the way of Steph running back and she then fell. See Vid its very good!  Toffee got a chance to run with the Dolphins and was a real coiled spring and thoroughly enjoyed herself.
