Cheshire Set, Ryecroft - 05/07/2008

We Won!!  We are all so chuffed as we even beat our seed time by over 3 seconds not just once but again and again!  It was a great day despite the weather and we were in and out of the awning more times than a jack in the box constantly moving our seats for the break through sun!  Tigger and Dylan were fabulous and it was Dylan's first time in open and he ran brilliantly. Treacle and Mac were amazing slightly hindered by their handlers, myself and Paul's frequent ineptitude! But fortunately Mac sorted himself out and Treacle judged her passing herself when she was let off too early! Treacle was especially great (yes I am biased but it was quite spectacular) when another dog ran to our box to get her ball just as she came over the 4th jump I yelled stop and she stopped dead in her tracks and then came back to me as soon as I called! Storm  got some great experience in Open and was doing some good running over the jumps and coming back and it was great to have Kevin back in the fold with just one crutch now! Craig was once again our fabulous box loader, Rita, our scribe and photographer and general dogsbody!  Plus special thanks to Sandra our honorary team member from the Cheshire Set who is always a grand help. Thanks also to my team mates for making sure when we were ring party I was the only one who had to sit with an umbrella as I wasn't under the awning when it was raining!!

Northern Bytes, Tabley House - 31/05/2008

We Won!!! We actually won every race!!  Mac was superb on the lights again. It was a very hot day and in the afternoon we had to withdraw Jasper as the poor boy was overheating and put Tigs in and Tigger after going wide in her practise runs pulled it together when it mattered and we carried on winning!! The other teams were good and not as my mum questioned "were the other teams bad?"!! We were seeded 3 out of 6 one team withdrew so we ran against no one in that race so it was a great opportunity to get tigger and bruno running and yes kelly bruno did good all he needs is practise so his confidence gets up! Craig was brill on the box and it was his first time completely as he has not even box loaded in training!  Our fastest time was 26.85 which is a vast improvement from our previous and we are all dead chuffed, finally our name is appropriate!!  In every comp now we are having a "dog of the day" and today it was Tigger for pulling it together when it mattered and boy is she fast when she goes!

Dolphins, Eastham - 14/06/2008

Well we had a fab time at the Dolphins tournament. Bhuna was unfortunately not on form but won loads of fans as usual and def provided some good quality entertainment in the comp and although we did not get a time we did win one race and came 5th and we had good fun.

The starter team went well Toffee was lead and got her first red light for going too fast over the start!! It earned her a lot of cheers and I am so proud! Lucy did brill in her first comp and has only been doing it a couple of weeks and ran really well. Bert was fantastic and although a couple of times was a bit distracted he performed the best ever and ran very fast and well. Suzie ran in her first race with Steph and we were both very proud as she did bring her ball back with a little help.  The "Dog of the Day" award must go to Dillon who only started getting the ball at flyball last sat ran superbly well. He was fast, was triggering the box and was absolutely brill and def his father's son (dad is Mac).  There was also Human Flyball yes believe it or not! Steph, Rachael and I ran and we did well we def had the single stride s and boxwork to a tee and we will def have to do it in our mini tournament on Sun it was fun and there will be pics of it on the BFA website apparently! Its very good exercise and I think I am more knackered than the dogs today!

Cheshire Set, Ryecroft - 25/05/08

A fab day depsite the poo, vomit and wee!  The day did not get off well as only Steph made it for 730, Kelly and I were lost as our satnavs got us straight to the spot but it was on the M56 which was next to the field and Paul was en route from Skegness! Anyway several phones calls later we managed to get to the venue with a couple of minutes to spare as our division was first on, so all 4 of us plus dogs, box and buckets somehow managed to run into the arena just in time.  Sandra from the Cheshire Set was a star box loading & generally helping out.  Our starter team did brill we won a few legs and got a fastest time of 29.61 Paul was excellent with Mac on the lights and we all got the passing licked which was great, Tigger was consistent as she proved last week and the liver I provided Toffee certainly proved a winner.  It was Brunos first comp and he soon got the hang of it.  We then had the chance to enter a couple of dogs as NFC as a team had dropped out so Treacle and Mac joined a dog from the Carry Ons, one from the Kellington power racers and one from the Live Wires! They ran brilliantly I had just bought new balls and Treacle fetched them all and and went easily over the 14 inch jumps all the more surprising as after we had done our first race and left the arena she was very sick (from last nights food grabbing as I recognised a few dishes of undigested food!!) we had to go straight back in and she proved brilliant again. Mac was a great lead dog with Paul once again getting the timing spot on and also running over full height and without netting for the first time, we were actually running in div 7 which was not the bottom division and we won a few legs including my old team such a shame our races didn't count but they ran great considering all the dogs apart from Treacle and Mac didn't know each other!! Sometime during that Mac, who peed on loads peed on my mac but I had to wear it as it was cold and he peed on Treacles head!!! I trod in poo as Kelly’s photo will testify and Paul would keep eating from the dodgy butty van then had to spend several trips to the loo!!
